5 Questions with Michael Jonas

Business Attorney

1. What is your professional super power?

My professional superpower is translating complex legal, business, and nonprofit concepts into clear, actionable strategies. Whether it’s launching a mutual aid organization, navigating nonprofit law, or structuring a partnership agreement, I help people bring their ideas to life with confidence and clarity. I use this skill to create tools, systems, and services that make doing good for people and the planet actually doable.

2. What excites you most about joining the team?

I’m excited to be part of a team that understands the way we work should reflect the world we want to build. Conello brings together strategy, values, and shared purpose in a way that feels rare and deeply needed. I joined because I believe in helping people do business differently, with care, intention, and community at the center.

3. What does community mean to you?

To me, community means shared investment in each other’s success. It’s about showing up not just for shared goals, but for the harder moments too. Community isn’t always clean or convenient. It’s honest, evolving, and grounded in a belief that we’re better when we look out for each other.

4. How do you currently “find your people” at work?

I find my people by paying attention to who’s asking the deeper questions. Who’s thinking about systems, not just symptoms? Who’s balancing curiosity with accountability? I’m drawn to people who care as much about how we work as what we’re working on, and who value integrity, humor, and humanity along the way.

5. What’s a dream for the future of work that you’d love to see come true?

I want to see a future where rest is respected, collaboration is prioritized over competition, and businesses are measured not just by profit but by how well they support people and the planet. I want a future where we build in ways that are regenerative, not extractive, and where every worker knows their worth.
