Did you laugh at work today?

Humor is a vital part of life. You may have heard “laughter is the best medicine” for a reason. Ahead of National Tell a Joke Day on Sunday, August 16, we’re celebrating all the great benefits of a good laugh and sharing a few puns, too.

A published study from NIH states, “Our findings suggest that increasing the frequency of laughter might reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and increase longevity.” And this article from the Mayo Clinic further underscores how moments of joy and connectedness benefit every part of our body, as well as increase social connections and diminish stress.

Do you work with someone that brings fun and humor to a stressful (or even better, balanced) work environment?

During Covid and working remotely, Kyra championed humor in the workplace by planning Jackbox game nights (quick round of Quiplash anyone?) and even initiated Dad Joke Fridays at her first job at Cisco. Yeah, so this one’s personal.

At Conello, we celebrate opportunities to connect and be human, including sharing “dad jokes” and puns. We also recognize that at work, it’s important to take into consideration contextual and regional differences.

Here are 5 safe-for-work jokes/puns that may make you smile, groan or laugh out loud. 😁😏😂 Please DO steal them and share. The puns just might be the perfect opening for your next team meeting.
